importing to courses will import activities to the same section as in the source course. Sometimes this is really inconvenient especially if you have an alternative theme like the one-topic-format. I'm working at a local plugin named "Import to section". It basically works for now though not really tested intensively. You can execute it through an item "Import to section" in the course settings. The first page will let you choose the target section.
It would be much more intuitive to put a item to the sections menu "Import to this section". There would be no need to have a target selection page. I had some tries to get access to the section menu but got no clue at all.
Is there any way to modify the sections menu from a local plugin?
