How to set up mobile notification settings by default

Hello, we started using moodleapp and faced the problem. In user's preferences settings mobile notifications are turned off by default.

notification is turned off

It is difficutl to explain every user that he?she needs to turn it on in message preferences menu. How to make it turned on by default?

Hi Ksenia,

if you login as admin and go to:

-In new Moodle versions: Site administration > Messaging > Notification settings > Default notification preferences
-In older Moodle versions: Site administration > Plugins > Message outputs > Default message outputs

You will see a list of all the different notifications and each one has a default value for Online and Offline. However, I'm not sure if changing these values will affect existing users, maybe it only applies to users created from now on. If that's the case you might need to update the database directly.
