I just wonder if it's time to move on and finaly change the WYSIWYG editor?
this is a major proplem for many people i think.
Some people really dont know whats causing this majir problem.
most installations with php 4.4.0 have problems and there is always a possibility not to find any other reasons. i changed to tiny_mce in many of these installations and worked beautifully except the fact that it is not fully integrated
I post just to see if there is any thoughts to such a change!

Well, yes it is time to move on. And actually TinyMCE is coming 
The new editor intergration object (that let user to choose which editor he/she will use) is propably ready for use at Moodle ver. 1.7.
