Feature request: Choices with open responses list

In some cases we can't to make full list of responses - in case of colors (like in sample at http://docs.moodle.org/en/course/mod/choice) i can make list of "blue", "green", "red", "yellow", but current engine doesn't allow me to make ability for "etc."

In other cases i want to ask students to remember, for example, mostly known (for him) of Europe kings - and allow to students write his response manually - to make in results list of knowned kings with count of students, which remember him.

Request: add to choice setup page to checkboxes after list of responses: 1) allow student's to add self versions of response and 2) show versions added by student as other pre-registred response to other students. And then, just make it settings for working...

Hi there,

I think what you are asking for is covered in the feature requests in the moodle Bugtracker - Bug 3035 and bug 3034

I might look at bug 3035 in the future, but I'm not too sure about making it appear as one of the options for a different user - eg a choice might be set up with colours "blue, green, yellow, and other" - if a student entered "don't care", "i don't care" - or others that I will leave to your imagination, and we added it to the list of available "choices" the choice listing could become very long, and possibly contain "annoying/stupid" entries. - I'd probably prefer the text from an "other" field to only be available to the teacher of the course - what do others think?

I think option like " 2) show versions added by student as other pre-registred response to other students." - move this hard decision to teachers...
