When trying to generate new datasets when editing a Calculated Simple question, the new dataset is generated but will not get saved. I just can't get it, have tried different ways to do it. Below is an exact description of what I last tried, gave up and decided to ask you good people here in the community for advice/help.
- I open the calculated simple question for editing
- I click the button Find the wild cards {x..} present in the correct answer formulas
- I change the old values for the parameters in Wild cards parameters used to generate the values
- I set Generate to N new set(s) of wild card(s) values to 10 and click the Generate button
- I set Display N set(s) of wild card(s) values to 10 and click the Display button
- I can see the 10 new sets with correct new values and click Save changes
- I am returned to the question bank
- I test runs the question and there are still det old dataset
- I open the question for editing again
- I click the button Find the wild cards {x..} present in the correct answer formulas
- I can see that the Wild cards parameters used to generate the values are set back to the old ones
- I change the old values for the parameters in Wild cards parameters used to generate the values to new ones, again
- I set Generate to N new set(s) of wild card(s) values to 10 and click the Generate button
- I set Display N set(s) of wild card(s) values to 10 and click the Display button
- The values in the ten wild cards are the old values... wtf?
- I click Generate again!
- NOW I get the updated values in the wild cards
- I wonder why was that, and click Update the wildcard(s) values
- Now I get the old values in the ten wild cards!
- I click Generate once again, and I get the updated values in the wild cards. Phew! Let's keep it like that...
- But, I click the preview button, and in the preview question is still the old dataset!
- I click Save changes - it just might work!
- I'm transferred back to the question bank
- I run the question. The old dataset is still there.
