I love Moodle. It's so much more customizable and intuitive than Blackboard Learn.
I'm looking for a better rubric option for Moodle assignments. The default rubric plugin is too limited and the Learning Analytics Enriched Rubric is too complicated. I just want to be able to implement a simple percentage or letter-based grade rubric like this.
This is one area that Blackboard Learn actually got it right. https://help.blackboard.com/Learn/Instructor/Grade/Rubrics
In addition, I'd like to be able to override the discrete category grades -- like when I click on Effective for the objective -- and tweak them, adding or removing a few points for the category. Or least be able to override the final total grade for the assessment without having to exit the grading session and going into the gradebook.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Actually, I think you can duplicate that example with Rubric except for the tweaking points for the category. If my memory is right, I used to do that back before I retired. Have you tried the built in Marking Guide. You decide how much of each category points to give for each category. Marking guide calls them criterion instead of category. One additional really nice thing for Marking guide is that you can build up a set of feedback comments. Saves a lot of typing if what you are grading tends to need the same comments from one student to another. There is also a Checklist grading plugin that is worth looking at for some types of assignments.
Thank, Al. Yes, I think the marking guide will get me most of the way there. Guess it's name didn't lead me to believe it would do what I wanted. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
