I am new to Moodle and need to employ an administrator to run the program and the teachers. Is this the correct place to get a "feel" for what I should be paying?
If not, I apologise upfront, otherwise Id love to get some advice.
There's a massive variation in pay from what I've seen. It depends on exactly what skills you require. It will also depend on local supply and demand wherever you happen to be.

Moodle can be deployed in different ways.
If you are going to set it up on your own server, I think you need a systems admin profile to look after the platform, updates, plugins, security, user accounts, enrolment processes, connections with other systems (email, student management system, etc.), and so on, and you need an EdTech teaching profile to look after and advise your teachers.
There are many options. You would be best advised to contact a Moodle Partner in your region and get some local advice from them.
