If failing to encrypt end to end or selling information from a "free" app is a crime, there are a lot of criminals out there .
I did read your links.
- The alleged crime on slashdot was misrepresenting investors, not users.
- The Senate has been told not to use it but the Pentagon still does.
- The California civil lawsuit alleges "inadequate design". Most apps have security issues somewhere.
- Google employees have been told it is an unapproved app with possible security issues
