I found a java CVS client at http://www.gjt.org/servlets/JCVSlet/index.html, jCVS for windows users that works to Checkout your files. JCVS provides a complete CVS client/server protocol package that allows any Java program to implement the complete suite of CVS operations. I decided not to wait for your compressed files or get to a unix machine. It worked. I'm a novice at this but anxious to check things out on a Windows 2000 server.
