Hi everyone,

Even from home we continued developing the H5P integration in Moodle. All integration parts are growing and evolving over a really solid ground and we are very happy with the results.

The inclusion of the Content Bank to the course context is progressing nicely thanks to the patience of our UX expert Rafael Lechugo and it is being implemented right now. The xAPI library is being integrated this week into core and we hope that the H5P activity will soon start storing students' attempts via xAPI statements. Moreover, the H5P editor library will be submitted to integration review very soon, enabling the creation of H5P contents using the Content Bank.

After several discussions, the WYSIWYG editor within the H5P editor will remain based on ckEditor as in the standard H5P editor. Finally, we started working on the integration of the H5P language packs into Moodle.

Hot topics

The following issues have been integrated this week:

  • MDL-67734: Create basic skeleton for a global xAPI library needed for H5P content
Important discussions ended this week:
  • MDL-68240: H5P Editor: evaluate the change of the built-in WYSIWYG editor
On top of these above, there are several interesting issues waiting for integration review that hopefully will also land soon:
  • MDL-67814: H5P editor integration
  • MDL-67786: Create a new 'contentbank' plugin type and a new H5P plugin in the content bank
  • MDL-68227: H5P editor: integrate translations with Moodle String API

Warm thanks

We want to thank our hero of the week, Victor, for struggling against all odds in the H5P editor integration, which is almost ready for integration review. Good work and best of luck with it!
