After upgrade cannot add activity or resourse

Hello,

I upgraded to the last moodle version (3.8.2+) 2 days ago and now I cannot add activities or resources. I see the link, but it is actually not a link. More or less it happens like the following topic: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=252193



I've tried different things and I kind of found the problem but I don't know how to solve it.

There are 2 cases where the "Add activity or resources" is clickable:

So it seems to me it has to do with AJAX, but I have no idea how to fix it.

EDIT: I already tried to change the theme just in case. I tried the classic and the boost. The problem persists.

I cannot change positions / move up or down pages and exercises inside a course.

And disabling "Activity Editing Menu" doesn't solve this.


In the inspector there is an error:

Please, can anyone help with this? It is urgent I've spent hours with no luck. I will re-update moodle but I'm not sure that solves the problem.

You must have tried the basic things. You said "tried different things", unless we know what those things are, we have to start from the beginning.
- cleared Cache, in the server and on browser?
- changed the theme to Boost?
- tried changing Activity chooser default (modchooserdefault)
- as a normal user in Teacher role rather than 'admin'

Yes, cache has been cleared (Moodle and cloudflare).
I also tried Boost and Classic to make sure it wasn't the theme.
Teacher and admins cannot add activities either.

And as I explained in the first message when I untick modchooserdefault, then I see the tabs instead of the links to add activities and I can add activities. BUT I still cannot move lessons and activities up and down inside the course by dragging them, which is essential in Moodle.

So I'm assuming the problem with AJAX or JS persists.

In the other thread your have linked to your OP, the experts point to JavaScript errors, possibly a bug. I am not familiar with the subject.

In my area, performance, I have seen Moodle sites on very week servers being unable to load these widgets - most notoriously the File picker. That is why I asked "as a normal user in Teacher role rather than 'admin' ". Is your server from a cheap mass hosting?

P.S. Dream Gilsh, I prefer talking to real people during the day time. Dreams are for night time. Unless you come up with a convincing persona, I am out. sad

I'm with an advanced plan in ecowebhosting. They are a small company that works pretty well and everything has worked perfectly with moodle and Wordpress. I don't think it has to do with them.

Should I redo the upgrade? I'm trying to avoid because it takes time and I'm not sure it will solve the problem.

Fixed. I just re-upgraded moodle adding my theme and it works.
