My question is the following: Is is possible to change the color of the warning that says "The quiz is available until x" (it is a bit glaring and it spoils the nice customization job I've done for my hotpot exercises )? Or better yet. Is it possible to eliminate the warning completely? There is really no deadline for most of my hotpot exercises. I've selected one only because I'm forced to.
if you are using HotPot v2.1, which I believe you are, you can eliminate the message by setting the "Close the quiz" to "Never closed" on the settings page.
The color of the message is hard coded into the "insert_message" function in "mod/hotpot/lib.php", around line 1630. I can see that it would be useful to have this color come from the "theme" for the site, or maybe define it on the hotpot module settings page, or the hotpot quiz settings page.
Oops actually, I was doing all this testing on my local Moodle installation and I realize did not have the last version of the Hotpot module installed in my computer. What is funny, though, is that in our production server I do have the last version installed and now I've noticed that the glaring red warning I was complaining about does NOT appear even if the"Close the quiz" setting is NOT set to "Never closed". This is OK with me, actually, but is it supposed to work this way? Anyway, I'm a happy camper now because the way it looks in the production server is what I really care about .
Re: the glaring red warning I was complaining about does NOT appear even if the"Close the quiz" setting is NOT set to "Never closed"
Mm, are you sure? I tried this on my site and I did get the warning when there was a closing date set strange. I'll come and have a look on your site
Ahhhh! While I was answering you I got the answer (I think). The closing date is already past so probably that's why the message no longer shows up .
Yes indeed. I just checked and that is the case. Silly me.
