I just want to remind everyone that one way non-programmers can really help this project is by improving interfaces for various tasks.  You don't need any programming skills - a simple HTML editor is perfect (or even just a graphics program) and you can make a real contribution.

Present your alternative design for a particular screen as a new discussion in the appropriate forum and encourage others to discuss it and help you refine it.  Once we have a clearly superior design it's often fairly easy to implement it in code (and will be even easier when we move to templates next year).
