Moodle Plugins

Hi everyone.

I need to add functionalities to my Moodle platform.

The thing is that I can't find a plugin that does exactly the things I want. I'm thinking of two options:

1. Develop new Moodle plugins that do exactly what I want.

2. Change the ones that exist (choosing look alike ones).

I already tried option 2, because I feel that it is more easy to follow. The thing is that when I change the plugins and try to upload them to Moodle, the new zip file is never accepted.

Can you help me? What should I do and what am I probably doing wrong on option 2?

How did you "change the plugins"? Did you copy an existing plugin and RENAME it? If so, did you rename all the old plugin name references in the plugin code to the name of the new plugin?

What do you mean by "the new zip file is never accepted"? Can you share the exact error?

Hi,

You should really be doing 1. If there is a existing plugin that does nearly what you want, copy it, rename it and then add in your changes. I suspect you are having problems with the zip as you may be attempting to update a 'core' plugin??? I have in the past created a plugin that even use the exisiting plugin's functionality by e.g. requiring the lib.php/locallib.php, apart from the bits that I need to change.
