We have the following requirement -


Each laptop will be dedicated to 2 - 3 schools. We would have a catalog of courses that will be offered in all the schools. We would want the ability to sync all the laptops from time to time. 

By syncing I mean get user data about grades, user uploaded files onto a central location. If courses have been created at a central location then they must be synced to all the laptops.

I was wondering if this is possible with moodle.

Short answer, probably not.

Variations on this question have been asked many times. Probably most famously with the OLPC project (see, http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Moodle but note that these pages are 10 years old).

That's not to say it's impossible. I can think of ways that your basic requirement might be achieved but all would involve a significant project and lots of development. Moodle doesn't do this as standard.
