Let students see custom roles in participants list

Let students see custom roles in participants list

We created some custom roles for our organisation (begeleider, vormingsconsulent). However, students can not view these roles in the participants list. They can view standard roles such as teacher.

In the user settings I have set students to view all roles including the new ones. What am I doing wrong?

Are the users with custom roles enrolled in the course? Or are they assigned the role at another context, like the category or system? I believe the Participants page will only show people who are actually enrolled in the course.

Depending on your situation. you may find the Category enrollments plugin helpful: https://docs.moodle.org/38/en/Category_enrolments

Ah, I think I found it! Have you looked at the setting "Profile visible roles" (profileroles)? Go to Site administration > Security > Site security settings, and put a check next to the roles which you want to be visible.

Yes that did the trick! Thank you very much!
