My organization is trying to implement Moodle for it's LMS. However, as an admin I am not allowed to upload files (like powerpoints) through the traditional front end method because it is a security issue. Is there a way for me to upload the files through the backend folder moodledata?
Not sure the following would circumvent what you are calling 'security', but have a read:
Its a security risk to let you upload files through a web-based UI, but they're happy for you to have server access to the datastore on the back end? Can you explain the logic behind that, please?
You could upload files to the back end, but someone would still need UI access to apply those files to where they need to be on the respective courses. Realistically, I'd probably go for Ken's link, get a space set up somewhere that you can add files to and the teacher can grab them from a repository to apply them to the courses in the correct places.
