Notifications of new wiki page/activity?

I think it could be very useful for course members to be notified by email when a student (or anyone) creates a new wiki page.

You can do this with Event Monitoring rules - https://docs.moodle.org/38/en/Event_monitoring

Event monitoring for wiki is really clunky.

  • It is not unusual for users to post to the wiki, then revise several times (sometimes just to improve formatting). Event monitoring sends a separate email every time it is saved — but if I set the threshold higher, someone who makes a single post without revising at all would not hit the threshold.

It should provide a way to consolidate multiple edits to the same page by the same user, to eliminate multiple non-significant reports.

  • The report doesn't give the title of the page being edited, only a link.
  • I don't see any way to have all participants notified of changes to wiki.
