Today I updated to Moodle 3.8 (Build: 20191118) and setup the H5P plugin. I followed the instructions (https://h5p.org/moodle) and I was able to see the activity H5P.com, click on it then "try" to select one of the activities to create. However, the hour glass turned forever and nothing happened. I closed the browser and tried several different activities with the same results.......nothing.

I thought maybe I needed an account on H5P.com first. I created an account and followed their instructions to set up LTI in Moodle. After this was complete I went back to try an add and activity. Now I don't have the option any longer to add anything.

I am not sure which one to remove. The external one will cost me $570 per year. Is it required to pay for this feature in order for it to work in Moodle?

It is weird that you have two different activities. H5P.com and Interactive Content (H5P). There is currently no real help associated with the activity. Def no help files. but it isn't hard to use. You don't have to pay for it to work in Moodle. Just select the activity and click Add. Build it from there. It does kind of require you to just poke it until it does what you want...you might have to install the various possible options.

Hi Valesa,

You write "I followed the instructions (https://h5p.org/moodle) and I was able to see the activity H5P.com,"

There was absolutely no need to do that. The "H5P / Interactive content" plugin is now part of Moodle. I don't know what you did but only "Interactive Content" should appear in the "Add an Activity or Resource" list, not H5P.com.

H5P.com is a repository of H5P contents which allows users not using Moodle (or WP or Drupal etc.) to create, store and use H5P content. You have to pay for it.

If you use Moodle, as you found out, you simply create your H5P contents as you would create any other standard Moodle activity (Lesson, Quiz questions, etc.).

In the "Add an Activity or Resource" list, when you select Interactive content, I think it's misleading that the "More help" points to the H5P website rather than to the Moodle docs at https://docs.moodle.org/38/en/Interactive_Content_-_H5P_activity.

I do agree that all this is not as straightforward as it might be, but I hope you will enjoy using the wide range of H5P activities. Personally I think their strong point is in practising, not testing, so the lack of reporting does not bother me.
