Having overcome the problem with teachers getting issued certificates by removing the "receive certificate" permission for those roles we now seem to have another problem which looks like a bug.
Teachers need to be able to download certificates for their students at times. Withe "view all certificates" permission enabled teachers are able to see the certificate listing for their students in the usual way. The listing shows all issued certificates with the download link but when the download link is clicked a blank page is served up. How is this supposed to work??
Surely if the link is there it should work... the certificate should be able to be downloaded?
This is so frustrating and, again, embarrassing. We have people who pay a lot for training and expect things to work properly. We are happy to pay for a properly working plugin.
What is being done wrong?
We are using the latest version, 3.7.1 and Moodle 3.8
Please create an issue at https://github.com/mdjnelson/moodle-mod_customcert/ if you have not already done so. If you are able to get a developer to work on it I will happily merge any fix you come up with.
It should be working as expected. It sounds like you have already been messing with permissions so that might be an issue. Can you download certificates as admin? Are you sure that the certificate is not in fact being downloaded - it is a pdf so dependent on browser settings on how it should open...
