Better Navigation for the Question Bank

Better Navigation for the Question Bank

When are we going to see a better interface for the question bank. This is nasty when you have over 1000 questions with all categories showing on over 10 pages. Concertina categories would fix this. This would hide all subcategories and allow the bank to be organised and viewed on one page. Then if you clicked on a category it would drop down and you would see the subcategories and so on.

Perhaps there is a major technical reason for this but we use question banks at the site and major category levels so we can feed multiple courses from the same bank. We have about 4000 questions and hundreds of categories. Add the course question bank to that view and its very unmanageable. Moving categories and questions is quite painful. We have also suggested a plugin to quickly rename questions in banks like we can with categories. This too would improve things a lot

Moodle will get there.

From the MoodleNet whitepaper:

The benefits for educators of using well-designed and easy-to-use systems...
... focus on usability and ‘delightful design'...
... interfaces must not only be functional, reliable, and useful, but pleasurable.
