Using external files (SCORM?) to limit MoodleCloud storage space

Using external files (SCORM?) to limit MoodleCloud storage space

The MoodleCloud promotional material mentions being able to use external files to reduce storage space. Can a SCORM 1.2 package (or other LMS type such as AICC or Tin Can API) be stored externally? The HTML5 works great on an outside server but does not communicate whether the student attended the whole course. The only completion option is whether the student has viewed it.

I did view Dan Marsden's blog post "Managing SCORM content" but not sure if any of that applies?

Thank you very much for any direction on this question!

Hi Larry,
Quick question:
The HTML5 works great on an outside server but does not communicate whether the student attended the whole course.
You mean it doesn't communicate with MoodleCloud or with your Moodle site?

Thx

The SCORM "Package" needs to sit on the same server as your Moodle site due to javascript communication etc, but if they contain large videos/other files you could put these somewhere else and embed the external url within your SCORM packages... but if you're creating "new" content or having to re-engineer the content.. why not try out h5p instead!
