Restrict access by group and groupings have been enabled at the site level.
I created an assignment and restricted it to a particular group and clicked the "eye icon" next to the restriction to hide the assignment if the condition is not met .
When the assignment is listed on the course page, there is an indication that the assignment is restricted, hidden and not available unless the student is a member of the group to which the assignment was restricted.
However, all students, no matter what group they are in, are able to see, the assignment, click on it and submit a file.
I tried creating a grouping and restricting the assignment by grouping with the same results, the restricted access did not work.
I tried setting the course group mode first to none, then visible groups, then separate groups, with the same results, the restricted access did not work.
Any help would be most appreciated.
