Adding custom scss to Boost theme

Adding custom scss to Boost theme

I created a custom.scss and upload it in the additional preset file box and saved change but it doesn't seem to be applied to the Boost theme overriding the default Bootstrap variables.

When I change from default to custom in preset file, it broke the layout so I switched it back to default.

How do I add variables and imports to override the Boost's Bootstrap defaults?

Thank you

Bill

Don't upload the file, but rather put the code contained in either the 'scsspre' and / or 'scss' settings on the 'Advanced settings' tab.

I am not at all an expert in themes and CSS, but I did give a presentation at a MoodleMoot two years ago about how I do this.  Below is a link to my resources web page.
