May I ask you folks to help me
understand if you consider the Open Badges spec to be ready for a real
world implementation?
It seems that Open Badges is still too new and
evolving to be taken seriously, just yet. For example, the retiring of the original backpack site and developing spec.
Do you think that Open Badges
3.X will do the same thing that 2.X did and end up evolving beyond any
backward compatibility?
I ask because I don't want to give students on our Moodle site a false sense that Open Badges is a
perpetual platform that will be around to serve them if it just gets
retired again and/or get replaced by yet another digital credential.
I love and support that the Moodle Team has embraced it and integrated it, but it is not like it is in their control to ensure it's continued support.
