there is no .htaccess file in the moodle core folder (not the new one or the old one). There is a .htaccess file in the moodledata folder. Is this generated by my provider or by Moodle? As a side note, this .htaccess file is the same for both installations - so since the other installation works as anticipated, I'm gonna guess it's not the issue. SC below:
