I need some help here with the interpretation of the following security settings. We have the site security option opentogoogle disabled and we have the "Allow indexing by search engines" to the default "Everywhere except login and signup pages".
I wonder what does it exactly mean...
What I thought it means:
"Open to google: If you enable this setting, then Google will be allowed to enter your site as a Guest [...]", so having it disabled I thought google would not be able to enter my site as guest.
"Allow indexing by search engines: Everywhere except login and signup pages", so search engines are able to index the site frontpage and whatever it is publicly available but it would not index the login and signup pages content...
I thought that having security settings specified as described above, google was not allowed to enter courses as guest (because opentogoogle is disabled) and not allowed to index content from those courses but allowed to index my site frontpage. But I was wrong!!... Google is indexing content (ex:pdf resources) available on courses with guest access!
I would like to realize if there is some kind of glitch on moodle or if I completely misunderstood those settings.
Thank you for your attention.
