We have set up an external database/application that is populated from our student management system. We have several thousands enrolments and its a lot of processing to build the final synchronization tables.
We use sync.php to enrol students to there courses, since we expected this to eliminate the problem with students logging in while synchronization table was not completely populated.
It did unfortunately not solve the problem since the users get external database as authentication method, and it is checked against external database at login.. If they log in while the synchronisation table is not completely finished, they unenrol themselves even if they are actually enrolled in the course at the moment.
1. Is it possible to turn off the check against external database when sync.php is used?
2. Could the authentication method be set to manual accounts when sync.php is used?
