Create single source content used multiple times

I need to add a block of instructions and images that will be added to every course. Is there a way to create the content once and use the same content in every course? I also want to be able to edit one copy and have all copies auto update. Is this possible? If so how do I accomplish it.

Currently running Moodle Version 3.6.2

As an alternative to what Howard has shared, I do what you seek by putting content on my website, outside of Moodle. Then, within Moodle, I link to the appropriate web page.

I gave this presentation,
"MoodleMoot2018 (Spain and Mountain), "Managing Course Content Using a “Personal Repository”,
at one of the MoodleMoots about my technique. It's an alternative, with pros and cons, but I thought that I would mention it to you.

Christine, you should use Generico. It does just this.

You can create a template in the site administration area. Then it becomes available from the Atto toolbar popup to be inserted on the page. People use Generico to make amazing things, and that can make it seem more complicated than it is. At its heart it was designed to do just what you have described.
