'4 years ago' ... means it's very old (probably no longer supported) code.
There was a discussion with another Softac user about problems and there was something disabled or broken with a site installed by Softac.
After you do what Emma suggested (do cause that does work), go to Site Admin menu -> Server -> Environment.
Should be an 'update component' link in upper right corner of Environment page. Click it. And after screen refreshes see if you can choose the version of Moodle in the drop down list to highest.
If you can, note what has red boxes ... must fix.
What are they? ... what do they say?
Comment: from what users post here in forums, it appears Softac installs a Moodle ok (most of the time) but alters core functionality of Moodle. The above would be a test. Also, since your site is 4 years old, be very cautious about any link to 'Upgrade Moodle' Softac/Provider might claim will work. Predict it won't.
