I have a newly installed moodle site using 3.7.2+ (Build: 20190913). No policies setting was changed.
Using Boost theme.
I am having a problem with course creator permissions.
After a course creator created a new course, he is not automatically enrolled as a teacher in the course, and he also cannot edit or change anything in the course that he just created.
When logged as the course creator and open the new course that was created, no gear icon was displayed. The site administrator icon, when clicked, only "manage course and categories" is available. When clicked and browse to the courses that created, the course name is displayed on right panel with only the delete (trash bin) icon is there. No edit (gear icon) or hide (eye icon) is available.
When I logged in as administrator, select the course, and go to the couse administration > enrolled users. The participant screen shows there in the roles column that the user is enrolled as course creator. I can edit that role setting and add teacher (editingteacher) and save it. Only after i did that, the the user will be able to edit the course setting, the gear icon appears, able to set editmode and other setting options.
But doesn't it supposed the course creator will automatically enrolled as teacher in the course he created?
Doesn't it supposed the course creator is able to edit the setting of the courses that he created?
for your info, the setting in user policies "Creator's role in new lesson" was not changed from the default which is Teacher(editingteacher).
I tried on creating a new lesson, the same problem happen.
I tried on creating a new course creator and add a new lesson, same problem happen.
If I logged in to the course creator account through admin interface (not the switch role), the same problem happen.
Hope anyone can give some advice on these, thank you in advance.
