Our company is planning to switch to Moodle from our current LMS. I downloaded the Windows version zip file to start trying it out. I extracted the files, and double-clicked on the "Start Moodle.exe" file, but nothing happened. I read the troubleshooting tips in the ReadMe.txt file, but nothing that I can see is using Port 80, and I uninstalled my current version of "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" and reinstalled the version recommended in the ReadMe.txt file, but still, nothing happens.
I saw in the ReadMe.txt file that I could use the xammp files directly, so I went into the server fiolder and double-clicked on the xampp_start.exe file. A command window did pop up, but I got a message saying that there was an error on line 37 in the file C:\Users\Stephanie\Documents\MoodleWindowsInstaller-latest-37\server\apache\conf\httpd.conf, that ServerRoot must be a valid directory. Line 37 says:
And, it does appear that there is no xampp folder. The apache folder is located directly in the server folder. I tried changing the folder location on Line 37, but that didn't fix the problem, so I changed it back.
How do I get Moodle running so that I can test it out and see if it will work for us?
