in the past I have used Moodle for homework. This year all my students have a computer at their desk so I want to change how I teach.
I am still using presentation slides and will probably continue doing so but I have started using a Moodle page which is often a list of new words, After some class talking, I send them off to a quiz, either in class or to finish for homework. This is feeling a little disjointed as there is either me talking or the students answering questions on a screen, both fairly long activities. I would like to use more of a worksheet on Moodle, a few points followed by very few questions which the students answer in a minute or so before moving on to the next subtopic where again we are back to discussion as a class.
This sounds a little like a Moodle Lesson but there may be alternatives such as HotPotato, Xerte, or H5P. I will be doing some experimentation but what are the thoughts of other teachers? How do you blend assessment of class knowledge into a non-virtual classroom?
