If you were a student in this course, would you find this assignment, post your answers, and receive a grade somewhere? Could I cut-and-paste an attachment and have feedback right here?
If this were an assignment, and I was a student, within this assignment you would be able to post the instructions of the assignment, setup the upload area for the finish/turned-in work. After you grade the work the grade for that assignment would be viewable by the individual students.
Is this what you were asking for?
Our discussion may be more suited to email as it may not pertain to others, however, here's my history with Moodle (in a nutshell).
Sept 04, Accidentally discovered Moodle while serching for a good online testing package. Spent 4 days just reading the forums and checking out the askepts of Moodle. On the 5th day I asked our technicians to download and build a working copy of Moodle on our Intranet server. I next spent 2 days determining what my class schedule configuration would look like and then built it. Next I asked my teachers where in our reading books they all were. Most were in Chapters 2-3 so I started building the quizzes, beginning with chapters 4. I did this for all our 6-8 grades. Once I got chapter 4 built I invited selected teachers to be my beta testing team. We had our students come into the lab with their teacher and did the setup's for them one class at a time. My teachers and my students loved them. Funny hearing that students loved taking a test, huh? Now several of my teachers no longer bring their class to the lab to test. When they complete a chapter the teachers instructs them that they are to come tothe lab on their own time and test over the next 3 days. We do 3 days because I am at this site every other day. I split my time between 2 differing sites. This has worked out very well. My teachers have gained classroom time and our students are taking more responsibility for their own education. Now my teachers are build their own quizzes, varying types from multiple choice, matching, true/false, and short answer. This has made a huge difference with our students and their technology awareness. The other thing that we find very useful is when a class is to do research on a specific subject we build the assignment in Moodle with an upload facility. We also build the web links. This saves time over students mis-typing the address a multitude of times.
I know this is long-winded but it is really a nutshell of our Moodle use. HOpe it gives you some insight into what you can do with it. If you would like to keep in touch via e-mail mine is firstname.lastname@example.org . Would welcome hearing your ideas and directions.
