Assignment completion on a passing grade

We're on moodle 3.5.1, the conditions for showing an assignment as complete are:

Student must view this activity to complete it
Student must receive a grade to complete this activity
Student must submit to this activity to complete it

I only want it to show as complete when the assignment has been given a passing grade, not just any grade. Am I missing something here?

If you set a passing grade in the assignment, the completion icon will reflect a pass or fail grade.

The problem is that even when it's marked as a failing grade it's still showing the course as 100% completed on the dashboard

Isn't there an option in course completion to set passing grade for activity instead of just activity completion? Ok, just answered my own question and no there is not. That seems like a huge oversight...wonder if there is a tracker item...
