Set it up per documentation - open firewall so extenal server can access internal one.

That would depend on your operating system, network configuration etc. Really you need to come up with a more specific question...are you also the network tech? If so, you should know how to open a port on your firewall and make it specific to your moodle server ip...if not, you need to ask your tech to do this. Then you should only need the moodle documentation.
