I recently became the moodle admin and inherited control of a couple moodle servers. I am going through and getting configurations and logins to be able to document its setup (because there is no documentation right now). I was able to access config.php and use the dbname, dbuser, and dbpassword to access one of the databases. However, the second server's credentials do not work to access their database. The server itself is up and running and allows users to make changes to their courses, so I know the database works. Is there somewhere else within moodle that store database credentials? Or is it possible that an account can have rights to access database, but not be able to login to a mysql prompt?
Of course, I do not have access to the MySQL root account because of no documentation, but I plan on resetting the root account by booting mysql into safe mode.
Also, yes, they really are on 3.0.10. The reason for all this documentation and database accessing is to perform an update. I just want to make sure I have all my needs covered prior to an update.
