Adding a comments section to a page

Adding a comments section to a page

Hello, I work for the University of New England in Australia,

We are using Moodle 3.5.

I'm looking for a way to add a Comments section to a page in Moodle.

In much the same way that readers can comment on pages in news articles, I want to have the option of providing a prompt at the bottom of the page for students to respond to via a comment.

I was looking at the plugins and found this:

https://moodle.org/plugins/block_course_discuss

which is sort of what I want, but at the bottom of the page I can see exactly what I want - a Comments section!

Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Thanks!

Adrian

Hi, the block you have mentioned will serve you purpose , but as you have mentioned you want it at he bottom of every page, you need to create a new region for the same and then add block to that region. When you will configure that block to appear throughout the site, then this comment section will show on every page.

For guiding you to create a new region I wan't to know which Moodle version are you using because after Moodle 3.1 theme boost based themes use the mustache files instead of the php files.

You’ll be restricted by your theme on where your blocks appear.  Some themes will allow extra block regions - eg. Adaptable allows multiple block regions.
