Hi there, thanks in advance,
Ubuntu 16.04 Apache2 v 7.2
May 30 updated Moodle fine from 3.4 to 3.7
Today updated to version 20190628 appeared just fine. I added 2 themes: enlightlite which worked fine. Then I tried to upload Academi theme and it hung before I could even get to the notifications page. waited. Looked up apache2 error.log and access.log and found these errors :
Modsecurity: status engine is currently disabled, enable it by set secstatusengine to on php warning: module 'curl' already loaded in unknown on line 0
Also: modsecurity loaded PCRE do not match with compilation
Researched forums and it said to use Set SecStatusEngine On which I did. Error on web still was saying
You don't have permission to view courses here which I read from ken had to do with modsecurity. after much reading I finally decided to just reset my hyper V server back to the image I saved today BEFORE upgrading. Love Hyper V . . . . Usually. But this time I can't restart nor stop hyperV and I can't even restart my server! (have not tried physically, I'm far away). I read in HyperV forum that drivers may cause this exact issue in Hyper V. I can access task manager and I tried to end task on all Hyper V processes to no avail. locks task manager and I have to create a new instance. I can click start then restart for server but nothing happens. Server task manager shows no load or processes going on. ideas?
Not sure what do do, of course classes tomorrow. I've done this git pull many times easily in the past and the upgrade appeared fine. I did a merge on 2 files but I really think it's the theme Academy although that would be strange as it never loaded.
conflicts I removed were course/tests/behat/app_courselist.feature and same path app_course_completion.feature.
Save me! thanks yet again oh Gurus.Partial solution. super stupid but I needed to expand my server window as it was hiding the request if I'm sure I want to end task or shut down the vm. So Now I can probably restore to my earlier version today but why the "you don't have permission" error when trying to install a plugin theme Academy?
I'm back to 11am today, server working moodle courses accessible again. I think I'll upgrade later next month after I recover from this moment of stress. Ideas on the permission issue still valued. Thanks
