Installed moodle today and in administration page, tabs don't activate, just link is added to url and nothing happens

What can I do to solve this?
- Moodle 3.6.4
- PHP version 7.2
Found a way around the link issue, but it's not a fix

Try yoursite/admin/purgecaches.php
Click button for Purge all caches
While you've shared version of Moodle and PHP version ... might help to include some other details ... just installed how? Operating system? Kinda curious as to why one is installing a 3.6.x which is not the highest in that series ... so was this install done via some script your provider had available to customers?

upgraded with luck :D but still some buttons and tabs fail to function, just get selected and a # attribute is added to link
Well, you've told us it's broke and described that ... but ... did you purge caches? And did the upgrade to 3.7.x go ok? Any errors?
Need more info me thinks ... so turn on debugging via direct url:
yoursite/admin/settings.php?section=debugging
Set to developer.
Anything in your nginx error logs?
