I have been requested to create an "auditor" role for students who wish to audit a class. The desire is that this student can participate in the course just like any other student, but does not appear in the gradebook. I can see from Google searches that some universities seem to have this role, but I cannot find a full role description (e.g. the full set of permissions required / prevented) to implement this.
I would guess that you would need to start with a non-graded role (like non-editing teacher) and then reset a bunch of permissions back to what a student would have to eliminate all the extra teacher capabilities. Either that, or start with the Student role and remove the permissions that result in gradebook entries - but what are those?
Rather than re-invent this wheel, can someone help? (as an aside, this would be a good thing to add as a demo role in the Moodle docs)
We're on Moodle 3.5.4, although I doubt that is relevant.
