Wayyyyy back when...when I was in primary school, schools used machines to help students learn how to read faster by "flashing" the words across a screen. The speed of the "flasher" could be controlled, made faster or slower. Is there any way to get Moodle to do this? I have read a little about the old machines....the benefit they provided is that they forced students to alter their mechanical habits - moving their eyes, etc.
A hook in to something like Spritz would be amazing! https://www.spritzlet.com
Maybe you could use an IFRAME to include a tool I've written way back.

As it is an HTML-File you could easily adapt it to your needs.

A speed reading plugin has been created about three years ago and updated continuously. Unfortunately, it has only been revealed to the language teaching community. Please contact John Herbert (taskchainbook at gmail.com) and ask him for his plugin and kindly request that he submit it to the Plugins Database. Note that the plugin is designed for second language learners, but it might be useful for first language learners as well.
