I was wondering what the logic is behind making the Course Categories page public, and not require_login() ?
If you go to /course/index.php for example on an installed moodle, it will happily show you the course catalog and hierarchies and descriptions and such, even if you are not logged in and have disabled guest access.
The "Force Users to Login" on Site Security Settings can resolve this, but then the Frontpage isnt viewable either. Why are these two pages coupled together by this security setting when they do vastly different things and present vastly different information from a user experience/security perspective?
Why is this? Why would I want Google coming in and indexing my content for people who will never be able to take it?
Is there any way to stop this behavior?
