I desperately need help translating this from English to Korean. Google translate and Papago are not accurate enough. I would soooo greatly appreciate this!
Thank you for getting back to me.
I don't know why Elliott is angry.
I don't even know him.
I used to see him very rarely. He used to come to the hostel occasionally to drop off guests from the airport.
He never spoke to me or any of the hostel guests.
One day, he came to the hostel and started to blame me for the things that were on the tables. The things on the tables did not belong to me. They belonged to the guests. 5 guests.
A few days before that, Mr. Lee asked me about the things on the tables, and I told him that they belonged to the guests. I asked the staff to ask the guests to remove the stuff. But the staff never told them. They say "OK, OK. I will, I will". But they never do anything.
I stopped asking the staff to do anything. It's too much headache. I do it by myself...it's easier and faster this way.
Even the cleaning: I do it myself.
However, regarding the tables, I cannot directly ask the guests to remove their belongings. From my understanding, you don't want me to be directly involved with the guests. I don't have a problem with dealing with guests. But I am under the impression that you do not want me to be involved with guest matters. This was the conclusion which I have reached from my conversations with Mr. Lee. Please correct me if I misunderstood.
Honestly, I don't think Elliott is interested in the cleanliness of the hostel. Because if he was interested, he would pay attention to the bathrooms, the stairs, the top of lockers, the beds. As well as the general maintenance of the hostel... such as the balcony door, the handles of the bed and the leaks . Especially the bathrooms and stairs. Guests complain about these things... not the tables. These things should be the top priorities. I know the things which the guests complain about because I am with the guests all the time. They speak freely with me because they consider me a guest at the hostel like them.
%90 of the female guests complain about the bathrooms. %90 of the female guests dislike the bathrooms at RestEZ.
Elliott could see that I was working hard to solve these problems - bathrooms and staircase. The employees also could see that I was working daily to address these two priorities.
Below is what I have done so far.
1) First, I reasearched the issue.
2) I used several kinds of soap, as well as bleach.
3) Baking soda
5) Citric acid
6) Oxalic acid
7) Phosphoric acid
8) muriatic acid (the strongest).
But the stains are too thick and too strong. The stains are soap residue and water mineral deposits (calcium and magnesium) that had been accumulating over a long period of time. This issue would have been avoided had the bathrooms been regularly cleaned.
The walls, mirrors, toilets, sinks and floors were never properly cleaned for a very long time. I had been at the hostel for 1 month prior to contacting you, and the staff never cleaned the bathrooms. Never!... For 1 month. They come in the morning, only sweep the floor for a few minutes (not even mop it), and then sit down for the rest of the shift to play on mobile phone.
Linda was the one who was mopping the floors (2 times a day) and cleaning the 3rd floor bathrooms. She was buying the supplies (such as bleach) herself. She also bought the purple mop bucket.
Where was Elliott at this time? The picture of the toilet seat which I sent you was like that, in that condition, for over 1 week.
I overheard the guests talk to Randy about the bathrooms many times, but he never did anything.
So after all the above cleaning methods, the only solution was to use high grit sand paper, starting from 1000 grit, and finishing with 7000 grit. And for the stairs, the only solution is to use a wire brush and a drill.
I went to over 15 shops searching for the sandpaper, covering a distance of more than 100km between south of 73rd street and Jeffersons, but only 1000 and 4000 grit sandpaper is available.
So I got the ones that were available (1000 and 4000 grit) and ordered the rest online. I started the work with the 1000 grit, while waiting for the rest to arrive.
Initially, I brought to the hostel 3 workers a few weeks ago in order to polish the stairs. Manny (the night shift guy) saw me bring the workers. The workers wanted $600 to do the job. So, I decided to do it by myself.
I made several trips to Jeffersons and bought the necessary tools for the stairs as well, then I started the project. It would have taken 3-5 days. But the result would be beautiful! Bathroms that look brand new. That was the goal.
The next day, I woke up to resume the work, but the tools were no longer there. The extention cord which I borrowed from the neighboring store to use the drill to clean the stairs was missing. Randy took them away. I asked him to at least give me back the extention cord because it belonged to the lady shop keeper...he refused.
%0 of guests complain about the tables. %0 complain about the dog. The little dog was a celebrity in the hostel. All the guests (especially the female guests) loved the little white dog. The dog actually brought business to the hostel. But unfortunately Elliott decided to make that an issue. But he neglects the real issues. It's almost as if he's deliberately doing that.
Randy will not listen to anything I ask him to do. When you sent him the report which I sent Mr. Lee, he packed his things and left the hostel. He quit his job.
When Manny (the night shift guy) saw that Randy left, he also packed his belongings and decided to leave as well. I saw him packing so I asked him where he was going. He told me that Randy quit so he was quiting too because he wants to be loyal. I asked why Randy quit. He showed me my report on his phone.
I explained to him that it was an honest report about the hostel because the owner asked me. I told him that it is not personal and that we are just trying to make the hostel a better place. I told him that the owner was not happy even before the report.
I convinced him to stay. I also asked him to contact Randy and explain that to him. He contacted Randy but Randy had made up his mind and didn't want to come back.
I met Randy a few days later when he came to the hostel to pick up his belongings. I sat down with him and explained the report. He said he has other job options and didn't need this job. However, at the end, he said he would think about it.
Around this time, I met with Mr. Lee and explained what was going on. Mr. Lee suggested to let Adi go and get another employee. I felt personally responsible so I insisted to keep Randy. I now realize that was a mistake. About 2 days later, Randy came back.
Randy feels personally attacked by me. He considers me a disruption. He is responsible for cleaning. I am reporting to you about the lack of cleanliness. That means I am a threat to him. The report caused him and Manny to feel anonymity towards me.
Eliott and Randy are close to each other. They are both from here. The reason Elliot is involved is because the staff talked to him about me.
