When you upgrade Moodle, all your data is retained. 

However, it is important that you take backups before you start for the unlikely event that something goes horribly wrong.

Have you read the Moodle docs about upgrading?

My videos are not for 3.4 to 3.6, but maybe they will give you some insight.  My videos are a little old, and they might not match your server.

The best thing you can do is to make a copy of your live site and practice the upgrade until you know what you are doing and have worked out any issues you find.
