Literally? I would put the windows down and stay in the shade till late evening, then walk on the road to what I thought was the closer of cell reception behind me or in front of me.

Okay, so with Moodle the key is to stay cool (put the windows down), and walk the Moodle docs, and try to find someone (the closest reception) who can help. The process is the same. It takes a cool head, a little searching, and seeking help.
I think your are in good shape. "Signs" that you don't understand along the way only mean that you have to think a little harder.
