I purged the cache and moved something in the development section of site administration and that did it. My tech did it and know its working fine. this happened to me at the moment of upgrading to 3.8. Another thing to take into account is that when you are on your main user open the student and log in as the student the system messes up, and can cause this problem, I recommend when testing with a student user. Directly access the user and password in incognito to give you a real look at it. this will show you the reality.
