Is there a way to make an LTI launch from a link in Moodle?
Canvas can do it by using the special external_tools/retrieve page, but I haven't found a way to do this is Moodle. The only viable option I see is creating a filter that finds my urls using regex and replaces them with a form (containing the LTI elements), which gets automatically submitted using javascript.

Hi Marcus,
Please correct me if I'm wrong, my understanding is that in order to use the External Tool we have to create an activity and cannot use those links outside that scope.
I need to use these links in places like assignments. We have added a button to the atto editor that allows us to create these links. Now I have to make sure they're LTI launched
