My apologies as I have read the documentation, but am a bit of a novice and may not have understood what it was I was reading. We are using Moodle 3.5, and are an OPen LMS hosting client.
We are working to implement a syllabus tool called Concourse, and an LTI integration using the External tool was suggested. All works fine, the application is launched and the user name and password info is passed through. However the role for each user is passed as "learner" regardless of the users' course role . This remains true except for users who also have a system administrator role, who are then passed through with the role of instructor.
Can someone confirm or deny for a novice, if there is a simple (think GUI) way to modify this information (ie configure the External tool tool to pass a course role). If this is not possible, would further exploration of an LTI membership service be suggested? Or if this is something that the LTI provider must manipulate on their side....
