Amazon S3 Bucket Repository Error

Hi,

I am trying to configure Amazon S3 Bucket as repository. I am able to see the top level folders, but could not see further files within them, I get

"Error while communicating with the repository 'Storage'."

Storage is the name of my repository.

I am using Moodle 3.7 and tried and get the same issue in 3.6 as well.

On searching, I noticed that this is a pretty old issues reported in version 2 onwards. I do not see s3-ap-south1 region in the list of endpoints in the drop down and could see the s3.amazonaws.com hardcoded in repository/s3/S3.php file.

Any fixes, patches, plugins available to get this working ? Or S3 is not an option to be considered for Moodle repository ?

You do not have the proper rights to view or open the 'storage' bucket, hence the error.

The latest version of the repository_s3bucket is using the local_aws plugin to support more recent regions and code. But this repository is maintained by Catalyst and already more than a year old. The most recent version of the local_aws plugin is available at https://github.com/ewallah/moodle-local_aws
